Frequently Asked Questions
Q: When is a good time for the entertainer to arrive?
The best time for entertainer to arrive is 15-30 minutes from the beginning of party. If the children have not all arrived, the entertainer will model balloons for the children before the group games and magic show begins. If you wait too long for the entertainer to arrive the children will get restless.
Q: At what point into the party should we bring out of the cake?
For 1.5 hour to 2 hour parties we recommend that you cut the cake in the last 30 minutes of the party. At this time the entertainer will be face painting or making balloons for the children and the entertainer can continue this whilst the children are still eating. The entertainer will also organise the children around the cake and initiate the birthday song for the children. Please let the entertainer know at the start of the party if you would like to cut the cake during the last 30 minutes of the party.
Q: How many children can I have at a party???
The prices quoted are for parties of up to 20 children. For parties of over 20 children an additional cost of $4 per child will be charged. If 25 children or more are attending your party a second entertainer will be provided at a special discounted rate.
Q: Will I get to speak to the entertainer coming to my party?
Yes! The entertainer will ring you on the Friday night before 8 pm on the weekend of your party. This is an opportunity to run over what will be happening at the party and any other details relating to the party. The entertainer will also give there mobile number to you.
Q: What will I need to provide on the day for the entertainer?
A chair and table for the entertainer for face painting.
A cleared space large enough for the entertainer to entertain the children and quite enough that the entertainer does not need to scream. Please ensure that if parents are in the same space as the children that background adult talk is kept to a hush so that children can hear the entertainer.
Access to a power point would be very helpful. The entertainer will bring along a small stereo with music
If parking spots are a distance from the party it would be wonderful if you could make a spot available in the driveway as our entertainers will be carrying loads of goodies for the children.
Any parking fees will be reimbursed on the day by the client.
Q: Will the entertainer cater to the theme of the party?
Absolutely! If the entertainer is a fairy – she will play fairy games, conduct fairy spells, tell fairy stories etc. This obviously follows suit for all the other characters. Clowns will be extra silly. Pirate will look for treasure and dodge man eating sharks and super heroes will teach children how to be super heroes and use their special powers etc.
Q: Do you perform in parks?
We love entertaining children outdoors in nature. However we can only do this if you have organised an alternative venue on the day for unfavourable weather. You can ring the entertainer in the morning of the party or the day before to let them know if the venue has moved indoors to another address.
We also recommend that your outdoors party is set up away from the play equipment or that the entertainer entertains the children away from the play equipment. This is to ensure maximum fun participation for the children without any distractions. Once a child follows their spontaneous whim to jump on the play equipment, the other children usually follow suit.
Q: Do we have Public Liability Insurance?
Yes.
Q: What is the background/experience of the entertainers?
All our entertainers have backgrounds in theatre or drama and regularly entertain large groups of children. They are also certified graduates of Yabbadoo Children’s Entertainment Academy with certificates in Birthday Parties and Magic.
Q: What happens if the entertainer is unable to attend my party?
We have always ensured that an entertainer attends the party. Of course in life there are unforeseen circumstances and in the event that an entertainer is sick and unable to the attend the party, another entertainer will take their place.
Q: How far in advance should I book you?
We are so grateful to be so busy. It is often difficult to predict which days and times will fill up in the calendar. Sometimes it’s possible to get a last-minute booking a few days before your party, but the best idea is to book as soon as you know your party date. Popular days and times are sometimes filled up to six weeks in advance. Give us a call to check availability. We’d love to be a part of your child’s special day!
